Inorderto maintainagoodstate of lubrication,thecarmusthave a certainkinematic viscosity.Rely mainly onthereaction filmofthefilmand extreme pressureantiwear agentswork,thereby reducing theamount of wear, to preventscratches andsinteringofthe tooth surfacesunder high load conditions.
The other hand,to test thelubricityandextreme pressure andanti-wear propertiesareassessedbyfour-ballextreme pressuretest machine.Under the experimental conditions,the steel balldoes not occurthebite cardmaximum load, which representsthe lubricating oilfilm strength, i.e.no cardbite load,canmaintaintheintegrityof theoil filmbetweenthefriction surfaceunderthe load.
Inthisexperimental condition, so thatthesteel balltothe minimum loadofsintering, which represents theultimatework abilityofthe lubricant, i.e.sintering load.Consolidatedwear valueequaltoseveraltimesthecorrectedloadmathematical average, which representstheaverageloadof the whole processantiwear propertiesoflubricatingoilfromalow loadto the sintering.
